Rem & Ram

Bunny Version

Rem, Rem… It looks as though
our guest has gone crazy.

“ I got into a bit of trouble
and lost my only horn. ”

My work today is caring for the front yard
and garden, helping to prepare lunch, polishing the silver, airing the futons,
laundry, bathroom cleaning, and the mansion’s monthly soot cleaning.

“ You look quite ridiculous, sir. I mean, Barusu. ”

Ram (ラム) is one of the twin maids working for Roswaal L Mathers in the anime Re:Zero.

Ram has medium length pink hair that covers her left eye, large red eyes, and young features. She is seemingly self-centered and does things at her own pace, however in actuality she maintains a distance from people to ascertain them. She believes that Roswaal is the greatest and no one else is as precious except for her sister Rem. She is slightly more outgoing in comparison to the generally taciturn Rem, who generally allows Ram to take the lead in their sisterly bond.

Once, Ram was a very talented Oni in her Oni village, but when the Witch Cult attacked and all the Oni fell, they’ve cut off her horn while she was protecting her sister Rem and she lost her Oni abilities. When Roswaal wouldn’t have come to save the two sisters, they would not have survived the massacre. Today Ram has two abilities: Wind Magic and Divine Protection

When I saw this cute Bunny Version of her I fell instantly in love with it and I wanted to recreate this look. I decided to make the whole outfit by myself.

Purchased Items

The only thing purchased is the wig.

Selfmade Items

I made the body, the apron, the ears, the tail and the accessoires all by myself.

I hugely undermistated the body and thought it would be as easy as Harley Quinn’s Christmas bodysuit. First, the fabric was strechy and smooth/slick and my sewing machine couldn’t handle it. After different tries I found a way to sew it properly. All parts were tricky and I had to try things out until it workes. I gained a lot of experience with this cosplay.

I can’t say exactly how much I paid for this costume but it was really cheap for me. I would say around 40-50 CHF.

For the body and the ears I used black fake leather. The apron and the accessoires are made with white cotton fabric and the tail with fake fur.

Making Of

To get a pattern for the body I used the wrapping method. I wrapped my body into transparent foil and traced the pattern with a pen onto the foil. I cutted out the fabric and sewed it together. Sadly it didn’t work that easy since the body has no straps to hold it up. I experienced with differend pattern methods until I was content and decided to use a transparent strap.

I used the same fabric for the ears which I used for the body. I wanted to make them movable so I glued wire into the inside with hotglue and attached the ears to the headband.

This outfit has many ruffles and I used the same white fabric for all the pieces. I’ve just cut them out and sewed it together.
You’re able to open and close the cuffs, for this I added some press studs.
